This piece is called a "Monkey Jar". The lid is
turned walnut and the top is lacquered brass
twist wire with a "picture jasper" center stone.
What is particularly interesting about the firing
results is the small secondary crystals in the
field, some of which appear as if flakes of
metallic gold.
